Trek Bicycles incorporation was set up back in 1976 by Richard Burke and Bevel Hogg. The duo came together to join Burke's investment expertise and Hogg's bicycle knowledge to produce what is now, a world renowned bicycle company.
Originally, Trek only produced hand built steel frames, a more costly process but by using steel brazing they could join tubes with no loss of strength to the frame. It is this that enhanced their popularity and set them aside from the rest of the competition. In more recent years, the company have moved away from the steel frame and replaced it with much more modern materials such as aluminium and carbon. However, due to popular demand, Trek still produce the 520 steel framed model, for those who know and love the material. Having originated in a small barn in Wisconsin, the company now distribute to 65 countries and are currently considered as one of the leading bike manufacturers worldwide. To validate this, they have an extensive range of superior bikes and frames, specialised for a variety of disciplines, including the most popular trek mountain bikes. Among those cyclists who favour the famous Trek bikes, is Lance Armstrong who has gone on to win the Tour de France whilst riding his custom built Trek. Trek bikes still remain as one of the leading companies in producing entry-level, full-featured, front-suspension bikes at reasonable prices and are also favoured within the women's bike market.
Trek's 2010 range continues this legacy with a fleet of bikes exceptionally produced to suit a range of cycling needs. This range includes the newly improved Trek Top Fuel which now boasts new rear shock tuning and reconfigured boost valve technology to compliment its already popular carbon mainframe, crossbow seat tube and carbon seatstays. These additions have not compromised on one of the top race frames, but have merely fine tuned an already superb bike. Trek 2010 bike lineup gallery (click link to see pictures)
